Applicants are required to meet the University's minimum academic level of entry. Competition is keen and levels higher than the minimum may be required for admission to some courses. To be eligible to study at Curtin through its Study Abroad or Exchange program you must:

A number of Curtin courses also require study of particular subject prerequisites and for some courses an aptitude test and interview may be required.

If you have all the information you need and are ready to apply, download an application form from our Forms page and submit it to the Exchange Office.

Application Process

  1. Complete the Application Form and submit it together with:
    • Your supporting reference
    • Original transcript of your academic history (all documents must be in English)
    • Copy of your passport
    • A letter of nomination from the partner institution
    • Evidence of English language proficiency, if applicable.

  2. Applications are processed upon receipt of all your documentation and you will be notified about acceptance by email which will contain:
    • A letter of offer
    • An acceptance form
    • Request for OSHC payment
    • Links to housing application forms and other information.

  3. Return the acceptance form along with evidence of payment of OSHC, and study abroad fees if applicable, and your place at Curtin is assured. You will then be sent the documents you will need to apply for a Student Visa.

    Submit your housing application as soon as you can - preferably ahead of the deadlines so we can give you preference. You will be contacted by the Housing Office about your placement in accommodation.

  4. You will receive detailed pre-departure information and Curtin will organise to meet you at the Perth International Airport through its airport pick-up service.

    Conventional mail to and from Australia can take up to three weeks, so we encourage you to use a courier such as Fed Ex or DHL for sending valuable documents. Payment options, including payment by credit card, will be explained in your offer email.

Application Deadlines

To start studying in the first semester of Curtin's academic year (February to June) applications should be received by 15 October.

To start studying in the second semester of Curtin's academic year (July to November) applications should be received by 15 May.

Some departments/courses (for example health sciences/nursing) require students to undertake health checks or provide evidence of immunisation. Please contact the Exchange Office if you think this may be relevant to your studies at Curtin.
